On Sundays I Smile – Week in Review

On Sundays, I review my week and SMILE.  This week was all about family and being around family definitely makes me SMILE.

J finally returned home.  It was so good to have him back.  Spending time with the hubs always makes me SMILE.

On Wednesday, my aunt and cousin came up to the house to stay.  It was great seeing both of them.

Friday J and I headed to Myrtle Beach to see my dad, his wife, and my brother.  My dad and R just bought a condo so we were spending the holiday weekend with them.  So far we have enjoyed ourselves.  We have spent time on the beach, at the pool, and ate tons of delicious food.  This weekend has definitely made me SMILE.

I will share photos from this trip once I get home.

Also, I have been thinking about switching a few things up on my blog and would love to hear some feedback.  I love my Savings Saturdays posts and I love finding celebrity looks for less.  So I was thinking about stopping the On Sundays I Smile posts and making Sunday's - Celebrity Sundays where I find or my readers submit celebrity looks and I find the looks for less.  I would still have Savings Saturdays but they would be finding an item like shoes, pants, handbags, or less.  Let me know your thoughts.  Reader feedback definitely makes me SMILE.

On Sundays I Smile – Week in Review

Thanks to Elissa over at Dress With Courage, every Sunday I review my week and SMILE.  The week started out with me winning!

As you know, I find giveaways each week and post them in my Giveaway Wednesday post.  If the giveaway is something I like, I enter the giveaway.

On Sunday, I was notified by Megan of The Frugalista Diaries that I won another one of her giveaways.  This time, I won the Ignacia Blue bracelet from Belina.  I love this bracelet!  Winning fun items definitely make me SMILE!

Sunday was all about relaxing with the hubs.  I woke up not feeling 100% but as the day progressed I started feeling better and just enjoyed my time with the hubby.

Monday was another day of winning!  I was notified by Intermix that I won the Georgie Julia Distressed Moto Jacket.  I can’t believe I won this jacket!  I have been craving a leather jacket for fall and winner and now I don’t have to go get one!  This definitely makes me smile.

Monday night the hubs and I took more outfit photos for the blog.  You will be seeing more outfit posts, YAY!

Tuesday I spent the evening with the hubs because he was leaving town Wednesday for work.  We spent the evening catching up on shows and watching movies.  It was definitely an evening to make me smile.

On Wednesday, I received news that my corporate documents had been filed, woo hoo!  I am getting really excited about that.  Wednesday I also learned that J had won an award.  How awesome is that?  We will be heading in to DC (not sure when) for the award ceremony.  I am so proud of my hubby.  This made me SMILE.  If you are in DC, I would love to meet up for lunch or drinks when I know more details!

Thursday I had planned on going shopping at Kohls to look for a pair of red pants (I will find them), but the weather was pretty blah.  So I spent the afternoon relaxing with Sophie.

We both had a great "girl's day."  My puppy is like my child as PinkPalmGirl said puppies are "little people in fur coats."  Spending time with Soph definitely makes me SMILE.

On Friday, I woke up early due to a thunderstorm.  I normally sleep right through them, but this one was pretty loud.  I finally went back to bed and really slept in.  It was really nice to sleep in.  I then watched this week's Project Runway.  I won't give any spoilers, but say that I wasn't impressed this week.  I liked the winning look but other than that BLAH!  What did you think of this week's episode?  Even though this week wasn't my favorite, I still enjoyed it and my favorite quote of the episode was "Your demographic is like 40 to dead."  Totally made me smile.

I then headed to Kohls and TJ Maxx on the red pants mission.  I found red denim capris at Kohls for $16.  Although they aren't jeans, I still really liked the pants and figured since I lived in Florida I would get use out of them.  At TJ Maxx, I found a great polka dot skirt and cobalt sweater.  So excited to show these looks!  Shopping always makes me SMILE.

Since the hubby was out of town, I spent Friday night watching The Notebook.

I absolutely love this movie.  It is such a fabulous love story and although it is sad at times it definitely makes me SMILE.

On Saturday, I woke up early and worked out.  I haven't worked out in months, but it definitely felt good.  I am starting my Weight Watches back and hope to lose a few pounds.

After the work out, I decided to go to the movies.  After watching The Notebook, I felt like I needed more Ryan Gosling so I saw Crazy Stupid Love again!  The movie was CRAZY AWESOME!  I am still smiling.

The hubs returns today, YAY!!!  That really makes me SMILE.

On Sundays I Smile – Week in Review

Thanks to the tradition started by Elissa at Dress with Courage, I review my week and SMILE.

This week was all about productivity.  Monday the hubs had errands that he needed to run so he took the day off from work and the productivity kicked in.  I worked on the outfit posts from the prior day.  The hubs and I took 2 hours of outfit pictures on Sunday so I had a lot of posts to work on.  The good news the posts are done and the good news you will get to see more outfit posts!  Definitely let me know what you prefer.

On Monday, we also took my car in for repairs.  My car had been recalled and I hadn't taken it in to see if it needed fixed.  Luckily, they fixed the car in a few hours time.

I also received my my necklace I won in a giveaway from Megan at The Frugalista Diaries.  The necklace was made by Moxie Jane Jewelry and has a fun nautical theme.

 Freebies always make me smile!

Tuesday was all about emails.  I know exciting, right?  But hopefully I will have a fun announcement in the future.  *Fingers crossed*  Tuesday I provided tips for wearing leggings and a trend tip for wearing shorts with a blazer.  Although not an exciting day, I still felt very productive which makes me smile.

Wednesday, I spent the day planning hotels and arrangements for Blogger Brilliance.  I am getting really excited for the event.  I can't wait to meet all of the wonderful bloggers.  Are you going to Blogger Brilliance?  Getting ready for the event definitely makes me SMILE!

On Wednesday, I also added a pop of color to my wardrobe.  Do you like adding color to your wardrobe?  Adding the color to my look made me smile.

Thursday I got to visit with one of my best friends.  It is so nice to catch up with such a great friend.

On Friday I caught up on Project Runway.  I really love this show!  Watching it always makes me SMILE!  Friday was also date night with the hubby.  It was such a nice night.  Spending the time with my husband always makes me smile.

Satruday the hubby took the boat out and I went on the hunt for red jeans/pants.  I went to tons of stores and found nothing that looked flattering on me.  So I am still on the hunt.  Have you seen any red pants?

After my shopping and J's fishing, we grabbed a late lunch and spent the rest of the day watching shows and movies on Netflix.  Saturday definitely made me SMILE.

On Sundays I Smile – Week in Review

Thanks to the tradition started by Elissa from Dress with Courage, I review the week and SMILE.

I have a lot of reasons to smile this week.

On Monday I had my year check up to make sure my mass had not returned (read about my mass here).  I was nervous because I really wasn’t in the mood for another procedure.  But good news – the mass had not returned and I do not have to see my surgeon for 2 years!!  I felt a great weight lifted from my shoulders.  So I am definitely smiling about this!!

I finally got my hair cut on Tuesday.  It had been a long time coming and was really necessity.  I love my new cut.  My hair feels so healthy and when my hair looks good I smile.

Wednesday I finally saw Crazy Stupid Love.  I had been waiting to see this moving for a while but finally got around seeing it.  The movie was fabulous.  I laughed and I cried, it was the perfect romantic comedy.  Seriously, what is not to love about seeing Ryan Gosling with his shirt off and my girl crush Emma Stone?  The movie made me smile and I am still smiling from it.  I would go and watch it again.

Wednesday was also a big step professionally.  I mailed my legal documents for my image consulting business – Ideal Image Consultants, LLC.  I should be starting my image consulting course soon.  This makes me smile because I am finally doing a job I love.

On Thursday I did my first ever guest post.  I swapped blogs with Alyson from The Average Girl’s Guide and really enjoyed the feedback I received.

Friday I met a girlfriend for lunch.  I haven't seen her for a while and it was great to catch up with such a sweet friend.  Catching up with friends always makes me smile.

Friday night J and I had date night at Nippers.  I have been to Nippers once and fell in love with the restaurant ALL over again.  It is seriously so delicious.

Saturday I was going to attend a fashion show held at Belk at the Avenues Mall.   But as I did more research about the show the more I realized it was a fashion show for kids.  I just wasn't really in the mood for a kids fashion show, so instead I did a little shopping (it is the tax free weekend in Florida so why not shop a little?).  I went to Target and scored a dress and 2 pair of shoes for $30!  Score!!

$7.50

$4.50

Saturday was also a celebration of my husband’s new boat!!  J sold his old boat a few weeks back and finally found a boat to fit his needs.  It is so nice to see how excited he is about the boat!!  Seeing J happy always makes me smile.

I have some fun stuff planned next week so I am excited to share this with my readers.  Making my readers happy always makes me smile.

On Sundays I Smile – Week in Review

Thanks to Elissa from Dress with Courage I take Sunday to review the week and to SMILE.  This week has been a fabulous week.

This week I got to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  The park was amazing.

It was like a dream come true.

I also received my giveaway package from Kimberlee at I Have A Degree In This.  It was such a fun package!  Can't wait to try everything out!  The care package definitely made me smile.

In addition to going to Harry Potter and the package, I bought my tickets for the Blogger Brilliance event in Tampa on September 17, 2011.  I am so excited because I am going get to meet some of my favorite bloggers.  This week was not super exciting, but I really enjoyed the week and have been SMILING a lot.

On Sundays I Smile – Week in Review

Every week I review the week and SMILE.  This week has been good pretty good. It has been good because I have gotten more accomplished for my image consulting business.  I know I keep talking about it, but I am really excited.

This week was about prepping for family visits and a little shopping.  I purchased a great crossbody bag from Target for Harry Potter World.  The bag will be perfect to carry my wallet and camera.  So exciting.  The purse only cost $14!  Yes, I love bargains.

I also attended A’Propos Boutique’s Spot the Dot Sale.  I purchased a fabulous necklace for $19.99 and a pair of earrings for $5.  It was fun!

My in-laws came into town on Friday.  I picked them up at the airport and then we went to dinner at a new restaurant here in Jacksonville.  We went to Nippers Beach Grille.  If you watch Top Chef, the restaurant's executive chef is Kenny Gilbert.  The restaurant had a great beach vibe on the water.  We split conch fritters and then I had a house salad.  After the house salad, I had the grilled beef filet with white truffle mashed potato and red wine demi and mushrooms.  This beef was beyond amazing.

Generally, I don't order desert when I am out to dinner because I am too full, but we had to try them.  I got the banana split and OMG to DIE FOR!  I was so pleased with Nippers!!

On Saturday we went to the best breakfast joint in the world – The Metro Diner.  Yum! I ate the Croissant French Toast!  Hands down the best French Toast I have ever ate!!

For dinner we went down to St. Augustine.  The hubby and I were married in St. Augustine, so it has a special place in my heart.  We even went to dinner at The Columbia the place where we had our wedding reception.  The Columbia is DELICIOUS!  I have nothing but wonderful things to say about The Columbia.

Today the hubs and his dad are fishing so his mom and I are shopping at the outlets.  Shopping always makes me smile.

I also entered a style contest this week.  I am not sure I will win, but I could win up to $1,000 worth of prizes.  So that would be pretty exciting.  If you'd like to vote for me click here!

I hope that each of you had a great week and SMILED.

On Sundays I Smile – Week in Review

Each Sunday I review the week and SMILE.  Elissa from Dress With Courage started this and I loved the idea.  So this week I am smiling for a lot of reasons.  As I mentioned yesterday, a year ago I was in a hospital bed recovering from lung surgery.  I am now healthier and happier than I ever have been.  I love what I am doing and can't wait to see what the future holds.

This week on the blog I covered many tips, reviews, and some outfit posts.

On Monday I provided tips on What to Wear A Wedding and recapped the Central Florida Bloggers Conference.  I never realized how my blog has touched my readers until this week.  One of my readers, tweeted "I purchased heels today for a wedding and honestly thought, would approve? Wow."  That made me really SMILE and be appreciative of my lovely readers.

On Tuesday, I reviewed a local boutique Cate Lewis Jewelry & Beach Apparel and provided tips for dressing if you are petite

Wednesday was the fabulous Giveaway Wednesday as well as mentioning A'Propos Boutique.  I am really excited about the sale at A'Propos next week.  I hope I can find some really great items.  I may have some news in the future regarding A'Propos so I will let you know as soon as I hear something!  On Wednesday, I attended the Show Us Your Stuff event and met some great local jewelry designers and shops.  I bought the cutest clutch of all time!

Thursday was all about handbags!  I shared with you some of my favorite bags right now.  I have so many that I want to add to my closet.  But I am really loving the the green satchel (hint, hint ;) )

Friday I showed off my Five Favorite Things from Pree Brulée and debuted Fashionista Friday.  Will you be a part of Fashionista Friday?

Saturday was a celebration of things that make me self conscious including my scar and providing tips for savings.

Hope you had a great week!  Remember to take time to enjoy your week and SMILE.

Thanks to Elissa from Dress With Courage every Sunday I review the week and SMILE.  This week I has been really amazing and I have so many reasons to smile.

Monday

I think Monday it finally sunk in that I was going to be home for a while.  Don't get me wrong I loved my trips to West Virginia and Missouri, but I am glad to be home.  I missed my bed (don't you hate when you travel and you sleep on beds that aren't as comfortable as your own?) and spending one on one time with my hubby.  So Monday was a day of catching up around the house and working on setting up my business documents.

So if you didn't know it I am in the process of starting an image consulting business.  Basically, I will provide styling tips for clients based on their style preference and body type.  I am really excited about it and am finally working on the legal documents.  Hopefully I will be up and running at the end of the month and can take my image consulting class.  Anyway, back to my week.

Monday I also realized I won a $25 credit to Pree Brulee.  I love this shop!  Have you checked it out yet?  Seriously, I love every item but I used the credit to purchase the Dusty Gold Earrings.  I love the coral and turquoise.

Tuesday

I did a little shopping.  I mainly was going to pick up my Loft gift card for my giveaway, but then I found great deals and had to buy a few things for myself.
Have I mentioned how much I love LOFT?  I love that they have such great deals.  I ended up picking up a pair of trouser jeans and a tank top.  I have the jeans, but they were on sale for $19.97 and marked down 30% off.  So I purchased $69 jeans for $14!  Yes!!

Then I headed to Forever 21.  I was looking for a maxi skirt for the Bloggers Do It Better Challenge.  I ended up picking up a maxi dress that I converted to a skirt for the challenge, remember?  And a fabulous skirt that worked for the Everybody, Everwear:  Yellow challenge.  I was really pleased with my purchases.

Wednesday

I spent Wednesday hitting up local shops here in Jacksonville.  I can't wait to share with you these great boutiques.  It was so nice to have shops being so supportive of my blog and open to me doing posts.  It was a very happy day!

Thursday

Well Thursday was a day I had been waiting for since Deathly Hallows Part I came out.  I was ready to see the movie and was so excited for the midnight showing.  The movie was amazing as I mentioned here

Friday

Since the hubby and I had been out so late for Deathly Hallows (we got home around 2:30), we spent Friday night indoors relaxing and catching up on our weekly shows.  It was definitely what I needed since I was getting up early Saturday for the bloggers conference.

Saturday

As I mentioned yesterday, I attended the Central Florida Bloggers Conference in Orlando, Florida.  The conference was amazing!  I got so many great blogging tips and met so many great Florida bloggers.  I won't go into too many details because I plan on doing a post about the conference.  But it was GREAT!

Overall, this week has been fabulous and made me SMILE so much.

On Sundays I Smile – Week in Review

Every Sunday I do a recap of my week and smile about everything that I have accomplished this week. I started this because of Elissa of Dress With Courage.  She began doing this and I thought it was a great idea.  So I added her badge and started doing my weekly recap with a smile.

Since I was out of town from Wednesday June 29th through Wednesday July 6th, I am going to do a little larger review.

Wednesday

On Wednesday I woke up at 2:30 a.m. to announce the winner of my first ever fashion giveaway.  After making the announcement, we were on the road for the 13 hours it takes to get to St. Louis.  We had a fairly uneventful road trip.  We then got ready and went to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in St. Louis, Onesto.  Onesto is DELICIOUS!  They have the best alfredo that I have ever had and we all know how much I love alfredo.  We went to bed really early since we had been up so long.

Thursday

Thursday we made our trip down to the lake.  J’s parents’ have a lake house on Table Rock Lake.  We took Sophie swimming with her knew life jacket and she LOVED it!  She had a great time.
After swimming and relaxing, we went to the Steak Inn at Shell Knob.  I had probably one of the best steaks I ever had.  The food was really good even if it was not near anything.  If you are ever near Kimberling City, Missouri you should drive over to the Steak Inn.

Friday

Friday was another day of relaxing and lake time and then the other guests started to arrive – J’s sister and her husband, 3 of their friends, and J’s friend and his girlfriend.  Friday was pretty uneventful.

Saturday

Everyone went down to the lake, but J wasn’t feeling up to it.  So we beat the heat by staying inside and watching Red.  I had never watched it, but was really pleased with the movie.
Sunday

Sunday we got up and went to Shepherd of the Hills Vigilante Ziprider in Branson Missouri.  I was going to go and be the photographer because I was scared of the zip line.  But once I saw the Ziprider I realized I could do it.  I actually did the zip line.  It wasn’t too scary and I wish I realized that so I could have did the zip line in West Virginia, but oh well.

After the Zip line we went back to the lake to swim and then went to The Shepherd of the Hills outdoor theater.  The theater performance was really entertaining.  It told the story of the area and had drama, fighting, and even a fire.  It was really neat and we even saw fireworks.

 Monday

Monday was the 4th of July!  Yay!!  We watched the hot dog eating contest, which I try to watch every year and then headed to the Branson Landing for a little shopping and lunch.  I didn’t find any items for myself, but I did find some great deals for my hubby.  The Branson Landing has a JoSA. Banks Outlet.  I didn’t know they even had an outlet!  We scored two dress shirts for $32.00!  It was an amazing deal!  I just wish we had one closer.

Tuesday

We loaded in the car and made the 4-hour drive back to St. Louis.  I slept part of the way, because I was really exhausted.  Once we got back, we went to lunch with J’s parents at Tucker’s Place.  I had never been before, but really enjoyed my roast beef sandwich.

For dinner, we met a few of J’s friends at Joey B’s.  I love pizza and we always try different pizza when we are in St. Louis.  This restaurant had my favorite St. Louis style pizza.  It was DELICIOUS!

 Wednesday

We headed back to Jacksonville.  13 hours in the car is not my favorite, but the trip was made better by realizing I won a fabulous cuff bracelet from Sassy Jeweler.  The bracelet is fabulous and I can’t wait to show it off.

I also posted my second giveaway on Wednesday – a $25 gift card to Loft.  Have you entered yet?

Thursday

I spent the day catching up on reading blogs and laundry.  Ugh laundry.  It is everywhere!

Friday

Was a day for relaxing!  I am finally home for a while which means I can be more consistent with my blogging and network more.

Saturday

I spent Saturday watching movies on TV and catching up on shows that I had missed.  It wasn't an exciting day, but a day that I really enjoyed and needed.

On Sundays I Smile – Week in Review

This Sunday I am smiling because I have been spending time in St. Louis and on Table Rock Lake.  My husband grew up in St. Louis and his parents own a lake house.  Every year for the 4th of July his family has people down to their lake house to celebrate the 4th of July by lounging on the lake, cooking out, and fireworks.

The last two years we have not ben able to attend, but this year we were able to come in for the occasion.  It has been so nice spending time on the lake relaxing.  Sophie has totally enjoyed herself by jumping off the dock into the water.  It has been an amazing week.

I promise to share my vacation photos when I return home.

On Sundays I Smile – Week in Review

Every Sunday I do a recap of my week and smile about the week.  This idea was started by Dress with Courage and I think it is a great idea.

This week I am smiling for number of reasons, but mostly for the time I spent with my family for the Sayre Family Vacation.  The vacation was great!  Since I have been out of town for longer than a week, I am going to do a recap that’s a little bigger than a week.

Saturday

Saturday was spent at a wedding held at the West Virginia State Farm Museum.  The wedding was for my second cousin.  It was so great to see family and friends that I had not seen in years.  I had a wonderful time.

 Sunday

Sunday was Father’s Day.  I went to breakfast with my dad at Bob Evans.  We had a great visit and he really liked his gift this year.  I got him a new fishing reel and two photo albums filled with photos from my brother’s graduation.

After breakfast with my dad, I helped my mom load the car for the family vacation held in Beckley, West Virginia.  My Uncle has a house in Beckley with a huge pool and a hot tub.  Sunday was spent swimming and relaxing.

Monday

Monday was white water rafting day.  I had never been white water rafting, but was really excited for the adventure.  We used West Virginia Adventures for our rafting trip.  The crew of West Virginia Adventures was so helpful.  I would recommend them for all of your white water trips.  We traveled down the Upper New River.  I loved the white water rafting.  It was a great time.

 Tuesday

During the day Tuesday, we spent the day relaxing by the pool and catching up on old times.  That evening was game night.  My Aunt created the Sayre Family Minute to Win It games.  If you have ever watched Minute to Win It, you know what I am talking about.  The games are hilarious and sometimes really difficult.  I played two games – Tic Tac Toe and Elephant March.  The Tic Tac Toe game seemed impossible, but I did win the Elephant March.  The games were HILARIOUS!

After the games we headed out to a campfire for s’mores and campfire songs.  This reminded me of my years at 4-H Camp.  I lead many songs and loved every minute of it.

Wednesday

Wednesday I went shopping!  I mean it can't be vacation if I didn't get some sort of shopping in.  When I was little I would go to Gabriel Brothers all the time.  But since I now live in Florida, I hadn’t been there in years.  So I really wanted to go to while I had the opportunity.  Gabriel Brothers is a clothing discount store that sells name brand clothes and ridiculously low prices.  It is located in Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

I bought a maxi dress, a maiden form bra, sunglasses, a set of bangle bracelets, and a double strand pearl necklace for $32.00!  I found some great deals!  I will share my purchases in a later post!

After shopping, the family headed to Theatre West Virginia to see Honey in the Rock.  Honey in the Rock is a play about how West Virginia was formed and gives a great history of the state.

 Thursday

In the morning on Thursday, we sat around the pool and had pedicure day.  My cousin painted all of our toes with fun designs.

After the pedicure, a group of us went to Pipestem Resort State Park for horse back riding and site seeing.

The day finished off with zip lining at Burning Rock Adventure Park.  The zip line went 60 MPH!  I was too big of a chicken to try it, so I played photographer and captured everyone’s trip down.

Friday

Friday I spent the morning cleaning and packing.  That evening I spent the day catching up with my dad.  It was great that I got to spend some time with him.

Saturday

I headed home to Jacksonville.  I was excited to see my husband and puppy.  It had definitely been a long time apart.

The family vacation was great!  I am so glad I got to spend the time with my family.

On Sundays I Smile – Week In Review

This week I am smiling because I get to spend time with my family.  Since I live in Florida now I do not get to see my family as often as I would like.  But when I get to spend time with them we have a great time.  We play games, tell old stories, and eat.  Mmm delicious food.  Even though we are all miles apart me can pick up like we just saw one another.

I am so thankful that I have such a supportive family.  Although I am going to miss my husband next week!

I am also smiling this week because I am doing my first ever fashion giveaway.  You can win a Mystery Pack from Anika Burke!  Have you checked it out yet?  Click here.

What made you smile this week?  Have you checked out Dress with Courage’s blog and what makes her smile.

On Sundays I Smile – This Week in Review

Thanks to one of my favorite bloggers Dress With Courage, I am using Sunday to Smile and reflect upon the week.

This week I am smiling because of my amazing husband.  He has taken care of me while I have been sick.  I have had a nasty cold and am thankful that he has taken care of me.
Monday I prepared for my first ever fashion event A Walk Into Summer.  It was a great time and cannot wait to go to more fashion events in the future.

Tuesday was spent doing errands around the house.  Very exciting I know, but laundry and cleaning must be done unless a fairy plans on stopping by and doing the cleaning.

Wednesday I spent the day in bed feeling pretty miserable.  Halls Refresh Cough drops were the only thing that got me through the day.
Thursday I went to the doctor and got antibodics.  By evening, I was feeling better.  I watched one of my favorite summer shows So You Think You Can Dance and saw who made the top 20.  I am really excited about this season.  There are some AMAZING dancers.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday was all about relaxing with my husband.  I smile that I am able to spend the days with him, even if it is just lounging around the house.

A Recap of my blog posts this week were:
