Versona Accessories Grand Opening

I am sorry I have been MIA.  Over Memorial Day weekend, I came down with a virus or something that left me in bed for days not wanting to do anything.  But I am back with a great new store.

Before Memorial Day weekend, I attended the Versona Accessories grand opening in Plano.  Versona Accessories offers women's jewelry, accessories, and apparel.  You have everything you can to complete your look from the clothes to jewelry to handbags and even shoes.

When I walked into the store, I was immediately drawn to the layout of the store.  The store organized via color.  This made shopping great because if you were looking for a particular piece in a certain color you could find it in one spot in the store.  Another great thing about the store was the prices.  Jewelry started as low as $7.99 and the most expensive item I saw was $49.99 (for a dress or handbag).  I spent my time taking many photos and shopping.

Review - Avon Advance Techniques Damage Repair Reconstructive Mask

After using the TRESemme Split End Remedy for a few months, I was still looking for a product to really help my damaged hair without cutting it.  One of my good friends started selling Avon and I wanted to pick up a few items for an order.  I found the Advance Techniques Damage Repair Reconstructive Mask.  The mask is only $8 and states that it provides a micro-protective layer over each hair fiber to seal in moisture.  I was excited to try the product and based on the reviews felt like it would be really good.

I have been using the product for three weeks now and definitely can see a difference.  I use the mask once a week.  I place about a fifty-cent piece amount in my palms and run through my hair.  The instructions say to leave the mask on your hair for 3 to 5 minutes.  I try to leave the mask on a little longer to condition my hair more. 

The mask has left my hair feeling softer and less damaged.  My only complaint is that the mask warns that your skin will be more sensitive to the sun.  I am pretty pale so I don’t really want to be more sensitive to the sun.  I haven’t been out in the sun for a long time so I haven’t noticed if I will be more sensitive.  But the warning does worry me.

Review – Jordana Paige

I was contacted by Jordana Paige to review one of their handbags.  I knew about the handbags thanks to Alison of Wardrobe Oxygen.   Even though I don't knit, I knew the handbag would be perfect for spring and very stylish. 

Jordana Paige was founded in 2002 after Jordan tried to find a stylish bag to keep her knitting material organized.   Her handbags are now stylish and useful for knitter and fashion lovers alike. 

While looking over their handbags, I was immediately drawn to the Bella handbag.  I loved the weave texture of the bag and knew the pearl color would be perfect for spring!  The Bella provides many pockets and is made from woven vegan leather with drawstring closure.  The Bella features eight pockets along the inside wall, three credit card slots, small zippered pocket, large zippered pocket divider, two circlets^TM to prevent yarn from tangling, and feet on the bottom. 

When my bag arrived, I immediately fell in love with the quality of the bag and organization details.  The Bella is absolutely gorgeous and looks like real leather even though it is vegan.   I love the pearl color but the Bella is available in black licorice and bronze.  The Bella is lined in a bright green color, which I absolutely loved!  The bag also comes with its own dust bag to protect it while it is not in use. 

The bag offered perfect spots for my wallet, lip gloss, glasses, sunglasses, and cell phone.  The Bella is also large enough to hold my iPad making it a great bag for travel.  The Bella's feet also allow the bag to stand up on its own.

Overall, I was really impressed with the Jordana Paige Bell Handbag.  If you need a new spacious handbag, I would definitely check out Jordana Paige even if you aren’t a knitter.

Review - TRESemme Split End Remedy

I have been growing my hair out for sometime now.  I chopped my hair off during law school and kept it short for a long time.  I even went shorter than the photo below.

My Hair 2008

After my surgery, I decided to grow my hair longer.  But my hair grows really slow.  So I hate cutting it, because I know that it will take forever for it to grow back (even if it is just a trim).  I try to take care of my hair by doing deep conditioning and washing every other day, but I have noticed that I am getting split ends.  When I saw a commercial for TRESemme Split End Remedy, I thought I would give it a try.  I purchased the TRESemme Split Remedy Shampoo ($4.79), TRESemee Split Remedy Conditioner ($5.69), and TRESeme Split Remedy Split End Sealing Serum ($4.99).  The products states that after three days 80% of split ends will be gone.

I have used the products together for two weeks.  I have noticed that my hair is smoother and has more shine.  However, I still see the split ends when I exam my hair closely.  I think the products have made my hair look healthier but am sad that my split ends are not gone.  I will likely continue using the product though.  

Leopard Print and a Hanes’ Giveaway

I wanted to create another work appropriate look but this time play with prints.  Leopard print is completely work appropriate as long as you are not wearing leopard from head to toe.  Sticking with the theme of being professional, I paired my leopard print top with a black pencil skirt and the ever-important Hanes Lasting Sheer Ultra Sheer Control Top hosiery in natural.  As I mentioned before, these hose are ultra sheer and are snag resistant.  I love these!

Review – Anjolee The Art of Jewelry

I was contacted by Anjolee to review a pair of their Diamond Hoop Earrings.  I have seen several bloggers wearing their products and I was so excited to review their product.  Anjolee was founded in 1977 and manufactures high-end jewelry.  Anjolee is committed to the highest standard of quality for each of their products and their product was definitely of great quality.  Anjolee specializes in diamonds and gemstones and have gorgeous Diamond Hoops. 

Anjolee’s website allows you to create custom jewelry by selecting the metal type including yellow or white gold or platinum, diamond size, quality and length.  Before selecting my product to review, I played around on the website and found the customize feature perfect to see the jewelry before I ordered it.  I decided to order the Oval Shaped Gemstone Diamond Drop Earrings.  I selected the earrings in white gold, high quality cz’s (since diamonds were not available for review) and amethyst.  The earrings arrived in just a few days in a wood jewelry box and leatherette interior. 

I am so happy with the earrings.  The earrings have a great sparkle and will look perfect dressed up or even with a pair of jeans.  The earrings have an easy clasp feature and the stones are of high quality.  Anjolee’s jewelry are always guaranteed to be genuine, authentic, and at the quality listed on the site.

Hanes Hosiery Fashion Challenge and Review

When Hanes Hosiery contacted me to review their new sheer line and participate in their fashion challenge, I knew I had to participate because hose are an important part of looking professional in the fashion world.  I received a pair of Hanes Lasting Sheer Ultra Sheer Control Top in Natural.  I selected the lightest color to match my skin tone.  But there are many other colors including Barely Black, Barely There, Gentlebrown, Jet, and Little Color.  The Lasting Sheer Ultra Sheer Control Top is part of the Silk Reflections collection.  Hanes has created a new run resistant sheer hose which means no more snags.  I am excited about this technology because I always add an extra pair of hose to my handbag so if I snag them I don’t have to go bare legged.

The Lasting Sheer Ultra Sheer Control Top hose arrived and fit my body perfectly.  Unlike other control top hose, the product features non-binding comfort waste band and flat seems.  I generally struggle with putting on hose especially control top, but these went on without a problem.  The sheer hose also felt light and airy as if I wasn't wearing any hose (a major plus!)  I was really happy with the product and will definitely be using the Hanes Lasting Sheer Ultra Sheer Control Top in the future as my go to hosiery.

As part of the fashion challenge, I was to show a look with and without the hose.  Since I think of hosiery as looking more professional, I selected a fun gray dress and black pumps to pull the look together.
