Everybody, Everywear: Green

The latest Everybody, Everywear challenge is Green!  Since St. Patrick's Day is this Saturday green is a perfect challenge.  But it wasn't so perfect for me because I own very little green.  I own a gorgeous green tunic, green v-neck top, a green satchel and this green sweater.  Although not a bright green, I decided to go with this sweater since it has never been spotted on the blog.

Everybody Everywear: Black & White

It is time for another Everybody Everywear challenge.  This month’s challenge was Black & White.  I have tons of black and white in my closet, but for some reason this was really hard.  I wanted to bring something different to my look but settled on faux fur.

I have had this vest for a while (thanks to my mom) and it is reversible.  I have only worn the vest with the faux suede showing, but I wanted to show it with the faux fur.

Unfortunately, when I went to take the photos it was pouring buckets so I used an umbrella in the photo (honestly, no loving it).

Everybody Everywear - Bright Pants

This month’s Everybody Everywear challenge was bright pants.  I was really excited about this challenge because I had bought these red denim capris at Kohls and had been dying to wear them.

I loved how this outfit came together.  I felt like the leopard print belt and pumps really go well with the bright red pants and black top.

Everybody Everywear: Mix and Match

This month’s challenge for Everybody Everywear is to mix and match prints or pattern mixing.  When I think of mixing and matching prints the first thing I think of is Mondo Guerra of Project Runway.  Mondo could mix and match prints amazingly.  I was never a fan of mixing and matching prints until I saw what he could do.  Below are two of my favorite looks from Mondo.

Mixing and matching prints is really challenging.  But here are some tips to make the look stylish without looking like you stepped out of a circus show.

When mixing stripes pay attention to proportions pair thick and thin stripes and play up areas that you want to emphasize with the large stripes and play down “problem areas” with the small stripes.

When selecting colors for mixing and matching a safe plan is to pair neutral prints with a busier print try a neutral floral print with a bright or neon stripe.

Another way to play with mixing prints is by playing with texture.  The first look from Mondo above really plays with texture.

Here is how I mixed and matched prints.  I decided to play up texture and use a tweed skirt as one of my prints and stripes as the other.   I couldn't decide what look I liked best so I picked two.

Everybody, Everywear: YELLOW!

So this months Everybody Everywear challenge was YELLOW!  I knew that this was going to be a problem because I don't own a single piece of yellow in my closet.  I do own fabulous yellow accessories, but nothing YELLOW!  Luckily, I had to do a little shopping today and came across a fabulous skirt with yellow detailing and decided to pair it with a yellow tank.  A there you go a yellow outfit!

Everybody Everywear: Floral

Another blogger challenge, Everybody Everywear issued the assignment of wearing something floral.  As I thought about my floral choices, I knew I had a lot of options.  I have a few floral tops, skirts, and dresses.  Then I remembered this white floral print dress from Ann Taylor Loft.  I purchased this dress to wear to a bed and breakfast with my boyfriend (now husband).  I liked the print and thought it was fun and flirty.  So here is my floral look.
