Final Four Friday

If you have been following my blog you know I love sports whether its college football or basketball - I love it.  But my favorite sports event is March Madness or the start of the NCAA Basketball Tournament.  You might think I am crazy, but I don’t miss a game.  Since this weekend is the Final Four games, I thought I would share looks to cheer on your favorite final four teams!

Tailgate Thursday – West Virginia and Pittsburgh

I interrupt this Tailgate Thursday post to say Happy Thanksgiving to all of my readers.  I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I have many things to be thankful this year - I have been healthy for over a year, I have a wonderful caring husband, I have supportive family and friends, and I have wonderful readers.  Without all of you, my blog would not be possible and I really appreciate it.

Now, back to Tailgate Thursday.  There are a lot of big games this week and a lot of rivalry games as well.  I decided to select West Virginia University and the University of Pittsburgh.  Growing up in West Virginia this is a huge game (even if the teams aren’t ranked). 

The West Virginia Mountaineers colors are blue and gold.  Since their mascot is a Mountaineer that wears a coonskin cap, I thought I would add a little fur to the looks (because who doesn’t love fur?)  With the weather being cold, I selected pants and avoided skirts and dresses.  I wanted my looks to be weather appropriate.

Pitt's colors are gold and blue too.  So these looks can be used for both teams.

Tailgate Thursday – Nebraska & Michigan

As I have been writing my Tailgate Thursday posts, I realized I have neglected the Big 10 conference.  So I thought this week would be the perfect Big 10 matchup for Tailgate Thursday.

The University of Nebraska’s colors are scarlet and cream.  These colors are perfect for fall and tailgating.

The University of Michigan’s colors are maize and blue.  Basically the colors are yellow and dark blue.

Tailgate Thursday – Miami and Florida State

This week’s tailgate Thursday is my favorite game of the season – the University of Miami and Florida State University.  I graduated from the “U” so this is my rivalry game and I want to make sure I have great looks for my team.  The Canes’ colors are green and orange.  These are not my favorite colors, but I definitely want to look great while cheering on my team.

FSU's colors are garnet, white and gold.  These colors are definitely fun for tailgating although I will never cheer for the Seminoles.

Tailgate Thursday – Underdogs

In sports, I always cheer for the underdog.  I love seeing the smaller schools win and be successful.  In football there are always underdogs, so I thought I would dedicate this Tailgate Thursday to these underappreciated teams. 

The first underdog team is Boise State.  I know Boise State is ranked 4^th in the BCS Poll, but they are still an underdog.  The team knows how to win and has done so for an extended period of time.  But I am sure Boise State will not play for a national championship even if they remain undefeated thus they are an underdog.  Boise State plays on a blue field (how cool is that?) and their colors are dark blue and orange.  These are definitely some fun colors for tailgating.

Texas Christian University (TCU) is another underdog.  TCU has played in BCS bowl games but not the national championship.  Although the team is not as good as last years team that defeated Wisconsin, TCU is still a great team and definitely an underdog.  TCU’s colors are purple and white.

Tailgate Thursday – Florida & Georgia

I know I have already covered tailgating for Florida, but I couldn’t miss the Classic Florida Georgia game.  The game is played in Jacksonville, Florida and is known as the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.  Plus, I figured Florida fans needed more pointers on tailgating apparel.

The Georgia Bulldogs' colors are black and red.  I always wear these colors even though I am not a Georgia alumni.

Tailgate Thursday – Arkansas and Ole Miss

This week the University of Arkansas plays the University of Mississippi.  This game may not be the most exciting to watch.  But will definitely be full of fashion.  The tailgating for this game will be at the legendary area called The Grove.  The Grove is described as the Holy Grail of tailgating since the fans dress in their Sunday bests from slacks, button-up shirts, ties, loafers, and coats for men and cocktail dresses and high heels for women.  I thought this game would be a fun one to cover for this edition of Tailgate Thursday.  Instead of my selection of jeans and tops, I am going to go with heels and fun dresses.

The University of Arkansas colors are cardinal and white (so red and white).  These colors are definitely fun for tailgating.

Ole Miss’ colors are red and blue.  These colors may not always go together, but will definitely be fun for tailgating.

Tailgate Thursday – LSU & Tennessee

Although there are more competitive football games this week, I thought the match up between LSU and Tennessee would be interesting because southern girls dress up for football games and they have some fun colors to work with.

The LSU Tigers' colors are purple and gold.  How fun are these colors to work with?  As usual I have created looks that can be worn to the games or other occasions.  They are dressy and fun!

The Tennessee Volunteers’ colors are orange and white.  I have trouble wearing orange, but orange can be fun for tailgating.

Tailgate Thursday – Oklahoma & Texas

There are a lot of huge football games this week.  My Canes are playing Virginia Tech, but I decided to select a huge Big 12 match up for Tailgate Thursday.  This Saturday, the University of Oklahoma plays the University of Texas.  Both of these teams are known for football, but their colors can be difficult to wear while looking cute.

The Oklahoma Sooners’ official colors are Crimson and Cream but sometimes use red and white.  I have selected a few options to rock while tailgating.

These looks could be worn to cheer on your favorite team or on its own.  I did select a logo shirt for each team if you want to sport your team's name!

The Texas Longhorns are known for their orange and white colors.  It is difficult to wear orange, but you definitely can look stylish while cheering for the longhorns.

Tailgate Thursday – Florida & Alabama

This week there are several big college football games probably one of the biggest is the University of Florida and the University of Alabama game. 

Cheering on your favorite team can be hard work, but you can definitely still look stylish while doing it.

Florida fan please no more JORTS!  Seriously, they are not attractive on ANYONE.  You can look great without wearing them.

UF fans can wear anything in blue and orange and look great while doing it.  You will want to be comfortable since you will be tailgating and sitting on the bleachers but comfort does not mean fashion has to go out the door.

One option for Florida fans is by wearing skinny jeans and an orange top and a fun blue handbag.

Alabama fans have some great colors to work with crimson and white.  These colors are great and can work with so many items.

The first look is casual but still fun – wide leg jeans, crimson blouse, and gold flats.
